Down the Hole
As we were coming back from our impromptu trip to the fountains today, Jordan kept saying, "Shoes down the hole, shoes down the hole!" He wasn't really saying this statement over and over but actually yelling at the top of his lungs. Again. And Again. And Again. I kept wondering what he was talking about... When Jordan & Erica got out of the car, they both ran over to the "pipe" that is sticking out of the ground in the empty lot near our home. When I looked down the "pipe", 6 feet under the ground, sure enough, I saw Jordan's shoes! His shoes that had been missing for 5 weeks. His shoes that are actually his "summer shoes". His shoes that can get wet, that he can run in, that he can slosh in mud all he wants shoes. His summer shoes that I was excited I had purchased for a good price. His shoes that I was really irritated we couldn't find for 5 weeks shoes. THOSE shoes! There is not any doubt in my mind how those shoes got in that hole... Neeldess to say, I started cracking up when I saw them at the bottom of this hole, 6 feet underground, stuck in the mud at the bottom of a "pipe"! I ran inside, grabbed a pole that extends (it's real purpose is to clean the ceiling fans, but that rarely happens in our home... one of these days it will be used for it's original purpose), and worked on fishing them out. After about 10 minutes, I finally had THE shoes! I guess I should add that while I was "fishing", Jordan was across the street, trying to see if his water bottle would fit down the pipe...
